Animal Reiki uses the same principles as treating humans (see
What is Reiki?). All healing uses the same life
energy force. Sandra finds animals easy to work with because they have no
pre-conceived ideas and do not make judgements; their acceptance is unique in
this respect. Reiki can complement the treatment given by a vet, who
should always be your first port of call for a sick animal (see
Holistic Vet).
Which animals respond to Reiki therapy?
Sandra gives treatments to
a variety of
animals, large and small. Dogs normally respond very well. Cats
either love the energy or hate it; although, with her own treatments, Sandra
has always found that cats curl up on her lap and purr.
Horses, in particular,
respond well to healing therapy. Sandra specialises in Equine Reiki and
is an established in-house practitioner with
Stockbridge Riding
School in Hampshire.
Animal Communication is of
particular interest to Sandra and plays a large part in her treatments with
animals.
It is
therapy in itself for us all: the energy circulates and is tangible within the
stable block, and all the horses ‘tune in’ to this amazing energy. There is
often complete silence as I work to balance energies ~ horses relax and often
fall asleep, and the remedial ‘sighing’ is a sign of real stress release and a
return to balance. |
